Limitation is a good thing. Because you depend on what you have in front of you, and using the utmost from the few devices at hand.
After much consideration I have decided to put aside my computer and all vst software and rely on my hardware synths and an my new multitrack machine.
I started with the Atari, Amiga and with windows using E-Magic Platinum way back in 90's
The result today without computer is also very natural and warm sounding besides the fact that is also fun making music as if one is playing live. With the computer it is very easy to spend more time editing etc on the screen. especially with today's modern DAW's. But with a multitrack you are challenged in a sense to make that one take, good right away and it also inspires you to come up with spontaneous operation on your synth knobs and sliders in realtime. Although this can be made directly as audio or midi into a DAW, I prefer my current setup at the moment and not dependable on a computer!
