Hi Jon,

Yes, everybody's having that problem. It's a 'known issue' for which I unfortunately lack time (and interest...) to fix it.

The board software is slightly outdated and not supported anymore. So EMPortal should really move on to something a little bit more modern. However, it's more than just installing a new package... There's some history that needs to be transferred/converted too. Not a task to do an a Sunday afternoon.

I may do it. Some day. Until then, there's not much I can do about it.

This particular thing is getting irritating. Not easy replying to a post when you can't quote it...

Yes, I know. Did you read my reply above? For the last 4 years I've been working 52 weeks a year, 40+ hours a week. Which leaves very little time to dive into this stuff. Thanks for your understanding. Oh, and if you know how to fix it, feel free to share it with us. Wink Hint: it has to do with unexpected behaviour of the preg_replace function under php5.

Have a good day and keep on smilin' Smile

No need for an answer like that. I am not telling you to fix it right away. I am just posting a comment about a thing that is not working. On the helpdesk, with the subtitle "any technical questions, please send them in". OK?

If I knew how fo fix it, I would have said it.

The problem occurs with long(er) posts. A workaround is to quote any short post and copy/paste the text You want to quote from anoher window...

For me it happens randomly and I copy one of my previous quoted post replacing the text.
The process helps sometimes composing a more rational reply Very Happy
