Phase IV by vOLKER rAPP (Cyclical Dreams)

Bandcamp: https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/phase-iv-cyd-0136 Here's one of my favorite movies: "Phase 4" is a low-budget eco thriller from 1974. This is the only film by Saul Bass, who was known for his film trailers and designs, which earned him an Oscar. The film was restored in 2012, and various opening sequences and endings were discovered. While the beginning seems more dramatic due to a different editing sequence, the ending of the director's cut is far more enigmatic. In this version, humanity can only survive if it coexists with the ants. Similar to "The Matrix …

ART OF INFINITY are reminiscent of the surreal videos by Pink Floyd

“Not of This World” is the second video clip for the remix album ‘The Art of Cinematic Audio - Part 1’ by German ambient artists ART OF INFINITY. The almost floating ambient music with its floydian guitars and keyboard sounds is underlaid with dreamlike images and thus moulded into an audiovisual and psychedelic work of art. With this almost three-minute trip, ART OF INFINITY are reminiscent of the timeless and surreal videos by the legendary Pink Floyd. Universalis by Hari Maia (Cyclical Dreams)

Bandcamp: https://cyclicaldreams.bandcam…s-cyd-0135 CD Edition: https://Kunaki.com/Sales.asp?PID=PX00K4MHO8&PP=1 "Universalis" is an album of soundscapes that evoke an intergalactic journey. The compositions began on a beautiful cold and rainy day, conditions that often inspire my creative process and are typically the most conducive to composing music for me. From that starting point, I developed a narrative for an imaginary sci-fi film, something I truly enjoy doing with most, if not all, of my musical works. "Universalis" is no exception. It represents a voy …

P'FAUN - The Marburg Sessions

Dear friends, listeners & supporters, P’Faun (Tommy Betzler, Sammy David and I) just released the new double album „The Marburg Sessions“ today. "The Marburg Sessions" on P'Faun's Bandcamp page Consisting of 10 extended space rock sessions, I guess it sounds a bit like Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze jamming with members of Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Eloy and Nektar (with Ritchie Blackmore showing up from time to time) – that kind oft thing… You can find more details about the release in the „about“ section oft he album page. Or, You can attend the BC Listening Party tonigh …

Distant Moon by John Scott Shepherd & Jamie Zarfas (Cyclical Dreams)

Bandcamp: https://cyclicaldreams.bandcam…n-cyd-0134 Distant Moon is a beautiful album with warm overtones and soft synth elements with rich and full sound. The intertwining of two like minded musical talents are highlighted on this release. It was born out of a shared love and vision of our mutual interest in the cosmos and creativity. The album is themed around abstract space ideas we have often discussed, so it is a musical painting of our individual and joint imagination and visions. Jamie had been recording some lovely ambient guitar on his own projects and I felt it was the perfec …

BRIAN ENO & BEATIE WOLFE - Luminal / Lateral (Verve)

On first listen, "Lateral" is a return to the roots: those of "Thursday Afternoon" and the other long ambient pieces accompanying Brian Eno's installations. Eight tracks, each around eight minutes long, to be listened to like a long, continuous suite, without any break. Listened to in shuffle mode, the album lends itself to hours of variations in the same sonic and immersive continuum. The eight tracks are named “Big Empty Country I, II, III, IV etc.”, like so many movements of the same work, a nod perhaps to the musical genre of the album “Luminal”, which I'll comment on …

Spectre by Karl Schoenberg (Cyclical Dreams)

Bandcamp: https://cyclicaldreams.bandcamp.com/album/spectre-cyd-0133 Vinyl Edition: https://elasticstage.com/karls…ctre-album "Following the exploratory Places EP, released in collaboration with Little Symphonie, Spectre (2025) pushes further into the unknown. Inspired by the abstraction of Rothko and the surreal fluidity of Dalí, this album treats sound as raw material—malleable, sculptable, alive. Composed in a small town in the French countryside with home-built electronic music tools (Max MSP, PPOOLL, SuperCollider…) and various acoustic instruments, Spectre dissolves tr …

Glimpse Of Changes by Anantakara (Cyclical Dreams)

Bandcamp: https://cyclicaldreams.bandcam…s-cyd-0132 Times are changing... but are they shifting toward darkness or light? Only the Unknown holds the answer. This album is an exploration of the incredible power of transformation. It's a journey of rebirth, where things that were blocked, folded, and hidden are set free. It's a call to embrace newfound liberation, to let life, joy, and hope flourish. For the best experience, listen with high-quality headphones to fully appreciate the spatial depth of the mix. All tracks written, performed, mixed and produced by Anantakara at Prismage Mus …

The synth return of the organ sound floating in the sky

After a long musical rest a new album. Again a live studio session with minimal editing afterwards. This is how I love to work. it is more about the atmosphere at the moment than deep musical explorations. Send / Return

MICHAEL BRUECKNER - ARPreciated

https://michaelbrueckner.bandcamp.com/album/arpreciated Dear friends, this album was recorderd within 35 hours prior to its release - because I felt that I had not done a lot so far in 2025 and had thought it would be nice to offer something new on that particular Bandcamp Friday (...yesterday, while I'm typing this). I was not sure if I would be able to make it, but gave it a try anway, and I have to say that given the cirumstances, it turned out rather nicely. In order to be able to create quickly, I usually self-limit the range of what I could do, the instruments I use and techniques I …

Rhea (BE)
Mark de Wit (1961) bought his first synthesizer in 1979. He was member of dark space formation Purfoze, with which he also performed several times in the Brussels Planetarium.
In the new century he started playing solo under the name Rhea. Called after the Roman goddess and a moon of Saturn.
In 2013 Mark started the Cosmic Nights Festivals at different attractive locations in Belgium with the participation of several Belgian and International artists. With Johan Geens he was co-founder of B-Wave.

With his 5th performance at the Brussels Planetarium, Rhea presents his double CD "Soon", as well as the limited edition LP "Synthober Waze".

Synquentium (NL)
Dutchman Peter Dekker (1973) remembers to have music in his head constantly since he was a four-years old boy. Currently, Peter owns around 70 electronic music instruments, with which he composed and recorded an uncountable amount of music.
Sometimes he spends days or weeks on real compositions, but for his Däcker projects, Peter prefers to create music in the most direct and spontaneous way: just sit and play.
He tries to reflect his widely oriented musical taste and interests into his compositions, especially those styles you wouldn’t associate with electronica in the first place, like rock, jazz and latin. Main inspirators include Vangelis, Nova / Peru, Jean Michel Jarre, Neuronium, Ed Starink and Jun Fukamachi.

Although Peter has been releasing music independently since the early 90s, Däcker’s first official CD album “Pareidolia” was released on Deserted Island Music in 2020.

His ambient side-project "Immersion in Total Emptiness", as his alter-ego Synquentium, is a rather personal piece of ambient music, taking you through time and space, fully improvised using a Roland XP-60 synthesizer only, perfectly fitting the ambience of the Brussels Planetarium.

20:45 - 21:30
Planet of the Arps (NL)
Remy Stroomer (1979) made his first compositions at the age of nine. Klaus Schulze (especially his period of the late 80s / early 90s) is frequently mentioned in comparison to his early musical style.
In 1999, Remy starts studying sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In the same year, his first album “Exhibition of Dreams” sees the light.
Since his debut, Remy released several albums, did international performances, collaborated with a large number of artists, organized events, and started his Deserted Island Music record label in 2011.

The Planet of the Arps ambient side-project (which refers to 'arpeggio', Halton Arp, Alan R,. Pearlman, and the Planet of the Apes franchise) evolved from the first studio version in 2010, to performances at the Zeiss Planetarium Bochum (2012) and the Ruins of Brederode (2014), and finally saw its CD release in 2019. Now, six years later, "Planet of the Arps 2" is being presented at the Brussels Planetarium.

syndae - episode 766

No, this is not the death star in some kind of invisibility cloak. Tonight, we have wonderful bubbles of colourful soundscapes for you waiting in this edition. And rightly so, as this week was fully packed with work related stuff for me. I need some rest, and I hope you are with me. Soap bubbles are fascianting objects. Especially in their play in light, where lots of little rainbows appear into being on their surface. Their look does sooze me a bit as well as they amaze me. Much like the songs you will get tonight being served by Vamadeva (Secret and Mystery III), Krzysztof Kurkowski (Synthesizer Stories), Steve Roach & Vidna Obmana (Cavern of Sirens), Dave Luxton ft Nacre & Michelle Qureshi (Lights Appearing), Ramón Sánchez (The Cardinal Points - North Part 2), Joerg Dankert (through the avalanche of time), Reichenhall (kollektion eins), Tony Gerber (Plank and Strings), jarguna (The Truth Lies Beyond).
