Couldn't find a topic on this.

Yesterday I bought these

Brand: www.mordaunt-short.com
type: Avant 906i

older type but bought new at Correct Rotterdam.

I am really impressed about the sound quality. As test reference I played "The Eagles - Live" and Caro Emerald "cutting scenes..." album.

When I listen to a speaker I find it important if the acoustic guitar and/or piano are like if they are actually in the room. And that the singer is right singer in front of you.

Secondly the bass should be in control.

And this is British. I like the British sound more than any other.

CD-player is:
Pioneer PD-S707

Amplification:
Luxman LR-6500

Yes, I've really enjoyed them over the years (about 11).

Only considered changing cd player or adding a DAC this year to get better sound source as the headphones have been a brilliant addition.

just need a proper room to put them all in - need a bigger house really - as we had to move into here when rent and council tax went up on the previous place

Have these for over 10 year now and still performing great.

Denon AVC-A10SE 5.1 Amp

Denon DVD 1600 DVDA player

Energy E:XL28P (with powered subwoofer)
(and a center and rears that go with it)

Don't know if I would buy it today though. Not because of the sound but more of how my life is now (kids, mortgage)...ahh the days of no kids, no obligations. :-)

And a 50" LG Plasma, PS3.
