Your sources for EM news and reviews

With so much music being released through so many channels, keeping up to date is getting harder and harder. And how to separate the wheat from the chaff in this flood of new music? What music is worth buying, and what can you safely skip?

My main sources for EM news and reviews are (in no particular order):
  • - EMPortal 8)
  • - the Groove weekly e-news newsletter
  • - the Spheric newsletter
  • - Sonic Immersion
  • - Bandcamp artist/label mailings

And to a lesser extent (mostly because I don't have the time to listen to them on a regular basis):
  • - the Hypnagogue podcast
  • - the Headphone Commute podcast

And to an even lesser extent:

    What are your sources?

I opened a Facebook account last year,
primarily to hook up with a few great EM groups/discussions.

A great resource in terms of finding out about new albums etc :D

Facebook in the first place (it's rather hard to escape information there… 😉 ).
And I visit the Babyblaue Seiten prog rock review page on a nearly daily basis since about 15 years…

The EMPortal, too, of course - well, and Bandcamp, Discogs and what everyone else said, actually (and a bit obviously…).

But also newsletters from some of my favorite musicians which I have subscribed to, then some print magazines (especially Beat and Eclipsed).

Of course, for a period of some years, I also used to visit KS' homepage often, and later also KDM's blog. It's grown rather calm there lately, though...

Plus actually real life friends recommending stuff to me...

Should also have mentioned Bills Thought Radio program on a Saturday morning. Picked up a couple of albums as a result of listening to the show and checked many others out.

I also need to check out Dreamscape radio podcasts. In fact away to do that right now.

Edit ....Cant get Dreamscape to work on IOS, iPad or iphone, no matter what settings I fiddle with. Oh well will check it out on the PC later.

Try clicking the WinAmp icon. That worked for me on an iPad.
